So first came ‘B.T.P.A (Burn The Pain Away)’ from Essex-based Magistrates and now comes ‘When We Are Apart’; their second single after a bit of time away from the music scene.

Magistrates deliver a capsule of pop goodness served with a healthy dose of clever hooks and eclectic rhythms. ‘When We Are Apart’ is reminiscent of the band’s melodic capabilities found in earlier material such as ‘Make This Work’ with a tidy arrangement of slick synths and shimmering falsettos, it unapologetically tilts its hat towards the misguided world of Pop, but on its own terms.
